ClamWin Free Antivirus 0.88.1 released

ClamWin Free Antivirus has been upgraded to include latest ClamAV virus scanning engine version 0.88.1. This release no longer uses Cygwin unix compatibility layer, which should make it more stable and slightly faster. Many thanks to Gianluigi Tiesi (oss.netfarm.it) for making it happen. It also includes number of enhancements and bugfixes:

ClamWin will check if there is a new release automatically and display a notififcation (can be disabled in the Updates configuration tab)
Better scanning progress display with % scanned for binary files and rotating indicator for archives
New advanced configuration option to detect Broken Executable files, which will mark an executable file with bad structure as a virus
New advanced configuration option to pass an arbitrary clamscan parameter string
Files with international characters in the filenames are now scanned
